Major changes in the VAT Law foreseen from 2010 - September 2009
On March 2009, the Luxembourg Government Council has given its agreement on a draft law transposing into the Luxembourg VAT Legislation the Council Directives 2008/8/CE and 2008/9/CE (the so-called “VAT package”). The Draft Law (No. 6027) was deposed by the Finance Minister to the Luxembourg Chamber of Deputies on April 2009.
This project also foresees:
- The transposition into the Luxembourg VAT Legislation of the Council Directive 2008/117/CE related to the improvement of the information exchanges between Member State in order to combat tax evasion connected with intra-Community transactions;
- The amendment of the VAT procedure rules.
Please find hereinafter a brief summary of the main changes expected in Luxembourg VAT Legislation as from January 1st 2010.
